Wow. 2012 flew. Like, really just went by without me really knowing what happened or how it happened. I remember ending last year with a lot of great expectation for 2012. I wouldn't say it disappointed me, but definitely, it somehow could've gone by a little bit slower.
After what could be my record number of flights in a year so far, 2012 definitely was a year of travel for me. Whether I liked it or not. 9 trips to the Philippines (including Cebu and Boracay), 2 trips to Singapore, 1 trip to Taiwan and 1 trip to Australia. I am blessed. (Though my bank account definitely is hurting)
I am thankful that God has allowed me to travel that much and see the world that He has created. I am thankful that my friends whichever direction I look, whatever shape we may be are still there. I am thankful that no matter our status, married, having a child, or single, I have friends and family that I can count on.
Despite its quick demeanor 2012 has told me that I should be happy to be alive. Tough as some of its events may be. As the call or responsibility gets bigger and bigger, I am grateful that 2012 reminded me that there are people that look out for me and I should be reciprocative of their appreciation for me.
There were bumps on the road of 2012, mostly events that hurt me because it affected people that are dear to me, but I am safe and pray for the safety that I had this year for everyone. God's hand and protection were definitely with me.
I normally see each year out with a lot of expectation for the next because the previous year seemed to slightly disappoint. But not at all for this one. A few wishes here and there that needs to be granted of course, but in the end, I am thankful.
It's probably not a note that I will normally end, but I am content with what has happened to me and hey...onwards to 2013. Hoping its 2012 ++ ! (except for taxes.)
